Nicola Costa
President
Essayist and expert in cultural policies and processes. She is vice president of the European Paganini Route and co-founder in 2001 of the Festival Paganiniano di Carro. In 2008, she created ARMES Progetti, a group of independent researchers and is president of the Movement for Cultural Rights and Duties. Among his latest publications: “Elogio dei diritti e dei doveri culturali. A difesa della democrazia” (Rubbettino, 2023).
Graduated in conducting from the Academy of Graz (Austria), he is a guitarist, conductor, composer, arranger and musical operator. From 1988 to 2004 he was artistic director of the Associazione Filarmonica Genovese; since 1989 he has been permanent director of the Genoa Youth Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2003, through a project financed by the Brussels Commission, he presented Genoa European Capital of Culture 2004, conducting a tour in the capitals of the EU enlargement countries, and conducted the New Year’s Eve concert at the Italian Embassy in Budapest. An Artist of Liguria 2012, he is a member of the Academy of Sciences and Letters of Genoa and President of the Association of Paganini’s Friends. In 2023 he was awarded the Colombian Medal for Culture by the City of Genoa.
